JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Senior Claims Adjuster that will oversee and assist customer service employees in performing their job duties, such as responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues or complaints.

  • Executes client strategies to achieve claims quality, customer service, and operational objectives.
  • Proactively work claims to ensure file quality meets Carl Warren's Claim Handling Guidelines and client requirements.
  • A high level of productivity is measured according to the age and complexity of the assigned caseload.
  • Maintains a timely diary of claims.
  • Consistently achieves audit scores of 90% and above.
  • Focuses on providing the client with an outstanding work product.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • May be required to prepare reports for clients and present claims in a roundtable setting or at a claim review.
  • Develops strategies for claims resolution with file notes reflecting clarity, focus, control/management, and momentum.
  • Identifies/utilizes vendors and effectively manages the vendors to achieve satisfactory results on both the expense and indemnity costs"

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of experience in the P&C industry.
  • Public Entity experience is a plus.
  • 5+ years of handling litigation management and claims of moderate to high severity.
  • Knowledge of claims processes and procedures, in addition to the overall knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft and claims software applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
  • Read and understand legal documents

Has a working knowledge of claims workflow and a strong sense of the processes—proven track record of performance.

EDUCATION & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Experience & Education

  • Field investigation experience is preferred
  • Public entity experience is required
  • A college degree in Business Management or equivalent discipline
  • Insurance Designation (e.g., AIC, AIM, ARM, CPCU) and insurance-related courses preferred "
